This is my first attempt at identifying a moss, using the excellent field guide from the British Bryological Society:
I arrived at Pseudoscleropodium purum (which the iSpot NBN dictionary translates back to Scleropodium purum) but I'd be grateful for any comments as to the likelihood of this identification.
It was from a dense growth of moss on north-facing chalk grassland, in company with at least two other species of moss.
