WHITE BIRD

Observed: 7th January 2012 By: Pauline
FLUKE HALL LANE 1
FLUKE HALL LANE 2
Description:

This bird was in a field on the coast in Lancashire with the Red-legged Partridge which are always there. It was smaller than the Partridge, had a pink/orange bill, and a red patch over its eye. We didn't see these details until the photos were enlarged on the computer. We have looked in our bird books but are confused about its ID. Help please?!

ID Comment

Not too sure but the red eye ring may make this more akin to the French / Red-legged Partridge.

The size difference between

The size difference between Red and Grey isn't that big so it could just be a small Red-leg, particularly as it was with Red-legs. Do you have some photos of it next to Red-legs so we can directly compare and look at shape and structure?
