Seen on Caldecotte Lake, in a managed park area.
No interactions present.
The bird on the right is almost certainly a female Tufted Duck, but the one on the left does seem to have a pronounced white base to the bill,which might indicate female Scaup, although its back is a bit too
dark. Inconclusive without a better picture I'm afraid.
There is enough to rule out Scaup on the left hand bird. The shape of the head is wrong, with a peak at the rear; in Scaup it would be more rounded with no hint of a peak. Added to the lack of a paler flank and it rules out Scaup.
