Description:

In temperatures of -2, there were hundreds, if not thousands, of Seven-spot Ladybirds today. Alongside a path, every plant from Heather up to Silver Birch held several groups of up to 30 individuals. I'm used to seeing a few in the winter, but this was amazing, and there was not even any sun...it was freezing!

Some super shots.
We have had huge numbers in N.E.Essex this year and I was amazed to see ours out and about on brambles inspite of a lack of sun and quite chilly winds.(see report and photo posted 28.12.2011)
