Description:

A group of grey-brown mushrooms growing under mainly conifers on slope in park. Light-brown funnel-shaped cap, about 6 cm across, darker tawny centre, down-turned lighter striate margin. Decurrent beige gills. Light-brown stem, about 3 cm long, 1 cm diameter, no ring. Cream spore print. Spores smooth, oval, non-amyloid, 5.5-7 x 3.5-5 microns.

Identifications

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

I'm not all sure about this

I'm not all sure about this observation now as I think I may have mixed up the specimen I brought home for the spore print. I'll do an update when I've sorted myself out!

I have now edited this observation, adding a photo and details of the right spores. I'm now fairly sure that these were Clouded Funnels.
