is this grey or purple heron skull or perhaps egret
I do not think that it is from a heron, as the lower mandible would be deeper at its base, whereas this looks to be very narrow along its length. There appears to be little notch where the cranium meets the upper mandible, as well, suggesting an egret (though the angle of the photo is not great). Probably a Little Egret, then, from the location.

If you still have the skull, it would be good to measure the length of the bill, and depth and width at the base (in mm) - these would be diagnostic and help to rule out other species conclusively.
