Calcareous red seaweed

Corallina officinalis is the commonest of the calcareous red algae, and occurs in Wales.
Corallina elongata is similar but has different reproductive organs from C. officinalis. They both have opposite branches.
Jania rubens is usually an epiphytic species which is dichotomously branched.

history

Don't worry you three! I am only trawling (dredging perhaps?) history!
Like Jo (may have) suggested, I also believe it might be C.officinalis.
