Description:

Small overlapping brackets growing on the side of a rotten deciduous stump, up to 4 cm across, brown upper surface with dark grey zone near white margin. Dark brown-grey undersides with wide whitish margin, small irregular pores. The poor old stump was also surrounded by honey fungus!

Identifications

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

You could have knocked me down with a feather!!

The fourth mushroom suddenly appeared yesterday. I've no idea what triggered it as my profile is all odd numbers but I was as pleased as punch! Thank you for noticing, and for the comgratulations.
Now the responsibility of agreeing anything is enormous because I'm NOT an expert. I'm very aware of still feeling tentatively through a dark maze when trying to ID most fungi that I'm sure others find common.
