Is that the true colour,if so look's more like H.lacunosa,can you remember the habitat it was in.
Yes, it was that grey colour which is accurately reproduced here. I had it identified as lacunosa initially. The habitat is next to a rock in acid mineral soil (derived from schist and moraine), some wood debris and leaf litter in a mixed wood with Chestnut.
I initially agreed with this id but like yourself I started to wonder if it was lacunosa. The books describe H crispa as whitish and H lacunosa as grey to black so I think the latter is probably a better choice.
