Thanks folks - it doesn't appear in any of the 9 wildflower books I have! It seems to be called Lemon Balm and I forgot to mention that the leaves did have a scent which could well have been lemon.
What a wonderful website this is.
If you want to agree with a given ID, you should click on "I agree!" not put in the ID afresh. It is all in the iSpot etiquette pages.
As a newcomer to Ispot I thought the idea was to create as accurate record as possible and so changed the observation from Unidentified to a specific name. I can't see anything in the etiquette to prevent this, in fact it tells how to edit an observation. Please correct me if this is not the case.
The paragraph in etiquette reads:-
If there is an identification already suggested, you can choose to click on "I agree" if you think the identification suggested is correct (and assuming that it is a species you recognise yourself!). If you don't think the identification is correct and can suggest an alternative please do so by clicking on "Add a revision".
I think you changed the Title from Unidentified -> Lemon Balm but the "issue" is with the Identification.
You live and learn!!!
Just to get this right, I can change the Title but not the identification, yet I can also delete the whole thing if I want to? Look out for my next one
