JAW946’s reputation in Fungi and Lichens

Cluster on a mixture of grass, fresh leaf litter and twigs. Larger caps approx 6cm across colour slate grey when damp and beige when dry. Some are half and half. Stipes approx 1.5 cm diam and approx 8cm long. the smaller cap at the front seems to have an inky deposit that has dripped on it from the gills above.


Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

This is rather a strange one

This is rather a strange one as Flaxton says and does indeed have aspects of Coprinopsis atramentaria and Psathyrella. On balance I think I'd plump for giving it at genus level and go with the Coprinus.
