If this was in UK, it would not be identified as B. hortorum. Bumblebees on the continent are not identifiable on the criteria we use here. They are very variable in colour between different areas. As examples, B. terrestris and B. vestalis on Corsica, and B. soroeensis elsewhere in Europe, are red-tailed black bees like our B. lapidarius. If we have someone who knows the E European bees we might get a species, but it needs knowledge of what is there and what colours they are.
