I found 5 similar looking fungi within a 2m x 2m area under an established tree. One had a flat top, but the others had curved tops, and all five had the distinctive fir-cone pattern on top.


Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

I agree that it looks like a rather dusky Shaggy Parasol, apart from the glimpse we get of the gills - which look to be dark brown?
