10 cm across, seen just in front of a hedgerow.


Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

Additional image added from above. No real stalk to be seen, as it appeared to growing straight out of the ground. The image which does show the underside was taken with the camera almost on the ground.....

I'm still really not sure -

I'm still really not sure - maybe a Tawny Funnel but hopefully an expert will drop by and give a more authoritative idea!

Probably is clitocybe but do really need to see stem and how its growing as there are some things that look a bit like this that grow direcrly out of wood e.g. Lentinellus cochleatus and similar.
