This fish swam under the foot bridge over the Hacking River at Lady Carrington Drive in The Royal Australian National Park. I have often wondered since what it was.

Just in response to the suggestion of Tiger Snake, the apparent stripes line up one-to-one with the ripples and (at very least) you can see pectoral fins.
As for Australian Lungfish, these are not found in this river system and have much longer pectoral fins.
