Scaly white dapperling

White cap with small grey scales, 8 cm across, depressed at centre, then rising unevenly before curving down to margin, white flesh. White stem, 4.5 cm long, 2 cm diameter at base tapering to 1.5 cm at top with downwards hanging ring, white flesh inside with a hint of hollowness, no volva. Free white/cream gills. White spore print. Spores smooth ovoid, 8-10 x 5-6 µ like poached eggs and an eccentric pore at blunt end. Habitat: grassy patch of shingle/sand just behind the beach.
