Description:

White cap with beige central area, then irregular beige patches and rather ragged margin, 8 cm across, flat, easily peeled, white flesh inside.
Smooth stem, 5 cm long, 1.5 cm diameter, small ring hanging down, white above ring and flesh-coloured below, no volva, no milk. Free white gills.
Growing in sand near the sea.

Thanks for the ID Malcolm... the scales on the cap threw me because, up until this specimen, I'd only seen silky smooth examples.
