I don't think there is any need to be less than certain with these - nothing else has the combination of glossy black body, yellow wing-bases and gold face. Tachina grossa is superficially similar but ugly, dull and bristly, and the face is more matt yellow than shining gold. Cynomya mortuorum is blue without the yellow on the wings.
