Moth
Description:

At first I thought this was a stick somehow attached to my door but closer observation revealed it to be a moth. Great camouflage on the right tree.

This reminds me of a Woodcock

This reminds me of a Woodcock I once saw, sitting absolutely still in the middle of a snow-covered field. I walked to within a pace of it before it flew. They come with the rule 'sit still, don't move, and no-one will see you' and miss the bit 'as long as you are on the right background'.
