Larus fuscus - but can't tell subspecies!

This is a Lesser Black-backed Gull so I've agreed with the ID. I can't say whether it is subspecies graellsii from this photo though, it could be the darker backed intermedius which is regularly found in the UK during the winter.

Nominate species

Birds overwinter in Morroco. Many young and breeding adults were ringed in Beccles Suffolk last year.

Large numbers winter in the UK

Some graellsii Lesser Black-backed Gulls and lots of intermedius race (or intergrades between the two) spend the winter in the UK.
Many of the graellsii that breed here do winter further south though - in Iberia, and north-west & west Africa.

We have over wintering lesser

We have over wintering lesser Black-backed here. I don't know enough to tell sub-species apart but they definitely over winter on the River Dee marshes and surrounding areas.

Just go out there and do it!!!
