According to my book P.ampliatus has fine red spotting on the posterior part of the pronotum, which I do not see in your photo, so I am inclined to think it is either P. gracilis or P. ornatus. Males of gracilis measure 16-20mm in length and those of ornatus 21-25mm. You say it was big, so I think P. ornatus is most likely.
