Can any one recomend a pocket size guide, I have been to several bookshops and nothing hits the spot. Thanks Luis
I am not sure I would class these as pocket size unless you have big pocket's but they are good general guides.
Roger Phillips Mushrooms and other fungi of Britain and Europe.
Michael Jordan The encyclopaedia of fungi of Britain and Europe.I have never found any book's in general bookshops if you give them the title they will order them for you or have a look on Amazon book's just type in the title approx £15 each.
Hope this help's
Could anyone help me please. Does anyone know how many edible fungi there are in the UK
I cannot give you an exact number but there are book's available that deal only with edible fungi. There is a very interesting old book (very small book) Called Edible fungi by John Ramsbotton, tells the history of fungi and when we started to eat them.It could be worth looking on second hand book sites as my book is 1943.
Thank you, I have ordered them as suggested
The site itself is a bit basic but it has reference material and a seasonal guide.

The Collins Complete Guide to British Mushrooms & Toadstools could just about fit an enormous pocket. I think it is quite good. It is about £10 from amazon: See http://www.amazon.co.uk/Collins-Complete-British-Mushrooms-Toadstools/dp...
Have now found quite a good website "MycoKeys" It seems quite good at first glance.
Is that http://www.mycokey.com/?
There is an online version of Roger Philips mushroom books here http://www.rogersmushrooms.com/ and an excellent US-based site here: http://www.mushroomexpert.com/
