Bee Flies

A few interesting facts about bee flies: there are actually 10 different species of bees in britain, although Bombylius major is the most commonly seen.
They feed mostly on nectar.
Their own larvae are parasites to bees and wasps...The female bee fly lays her eggs where they can be easily be picked up by host insects and transported back to the nest where the young bee flies feed off the wasp and bee larvae.
