Do you have any photo's of the cap or can you remember the colour of the cap.

The cap was shallowly cup

The cap was shallowly cup shaped, up to about 7-8mm dia. Dark brown at the centre, creamy ochre towards the edge of the cap and pale at the margin. Some dark brown concentric stripes. Pale underneath.

From your description of cap it maybe Panellus stipticus I originally thought of Crepidotus.I would need to see photo's of the cap to be sure so will not put an id on,hope this help's

I think this is probably too

I think this is probably too small to be stipticus and the attachment isn't lateral.
I'll take more photos next time I'm there.
