We have found this bat in our garage, roosting under the ridge. He/she has been there for several weeks, moving around and sometimes observed flying outside. We live in East Sussex and believe that this is a grey long eared bat.
It looks more grey in reality, than the photo suggests. We live on the edge of a large area of woodland.

Brown long-eared, I think

Yes, the colour of the fur is not really a guide to telling brown long-eared from grey long-eared. Who names these things? ;)

Don't get me started on common names! I agree with this being a brown long-eared as suggested above.
