Description:

Large butterfly, black tips to wings when open. Resting on tree for a long time, possibly feeding on sap.
Second photo taken in a different location (Kirstenbosch Gardens). Could be the same species (?)

Clouded Mother-of-pearl.

Not sure what the Kirstenbosch species is though.. I'm sure it's different.

Please move the second picture to another observation.

Even if it were the same species it would be invalid as on iSpot one species per one site per period. So different sites in Kruger would constitute new observations. Kirstenbosch is not on under any circumstances.

This genus does not occur in the Western Cape Province. But Kirstenbosch does.
