Entrance of burrow approx. 6 - 9 inches across. Have not seen droppings at entrance, but have observed them in the vicinity. Burrow goes under roots of trees in a small copse.

If you can not include a photo can you give a more detailed description, e.g. how large is the hole? are there any footprints outside the hole? Are there any droppings around the hole?

At 6-9 inches it could be a large rat hole but is more likely to be rabbit especially if there are droppings close by.
Saw a rabbit disappear into it at 5.15p.m. on 1st February.
