Description:

apprx 18cm diameter growing under birch tree
I have added further photos (including giving it the chop!) to aid identification

Identifications

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

More info please!

Hi Sparky
We really need to see a photograph of the underside too, to see it it has gills or pores, what colour these are, whether there is a ring on the stem, if the stem is bulbous or straight etc. Don't worry about picking the mushroom if there are several of them - the mushroom is just the fruiting body of the fungi, the vast majority of which is underground (or in a piece of wood) in the form of hyphae.
