Don't be put off by making errors - that is the way you learn, and we have all made mistakes (you should see some of the crackers I have made on this site!).
It might be that the other bird *is* a Coal Tit, but the picture is just not good enough to be sure. You often get Blue, Coal, Great and other tits feeding together in a loose flock at this time of year, so it is not unlikely at all.
