Description:

Fungus which seemed to follow the decaying roots of s dead (Silver birch?) tree stump. There were more last year after the dead tree was cut down.

Identifications

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

The ornamentation on this are

The ornamentation on this are converging hairs rather than the individual pyramids of L perlatum. I think it is Lycoperdon excipuliforme but not totally sure.

It must be easier to narrow

It must be easier to narrow this down now there is only one photo.
Funguspat - suggest you put the other photos on as separate observations (or group them if they are obviously the same species).
