Slug in Camoflage

Observed: 2nd November 2011 By: Kazzibird
Slug in Camoflage

The slug is a khaki colour and looks very much like army camoflage (which I assume the markings are?) The underside is a cream colour instead of the usual orange. The hole on the side, which is clearly visible in most of the slugs we see, is so small it is barely visible at all. Having lived at this property for 20+ years with its myriad slugs and snails, we have never seen a slug with markings like this. Please would a 'slug-ologist' let us know a little more about it. We would love to know what it is? Why has it suddenly turned up here? Where would it have originally hailed from? Thank you.
