I'm not sure of your logic, I assume you are referring to the pale animal in the centre as the pup. This could easily be a young grey seal of around one to two months old; equally it could be one of the previous year's grey seal pups or a common seal pup from the summer. There is little to give scale as it is not close to the other seals.

The coats are dry so it is difficult to assess patterns and the shapes are not distinct. Also, rather annoyingly, none have their head's up to see their profile.

Do you have any other pictures, there may be a clue in them.
