Snail

Thank you John for your identification. I had ruled out the Oxychilus as so many of my sources emphasised the strong smell of garlic. This snail was crawling round on my desk for about 30mins before I returned it to its natural habitat, and at no time, as I moved it around, did it smell of garlic. I will keep my eyes open for further specimens.

I don't think all Oxychilus

I don't think all Oxychilus smell of garlic, or only weakly. Maybe you weren't rough enough with it to make it use its defence.
