How long do they pupate for

How long do they pupate for as this specimen has started to make a silk like cocoon and has started pupating? Are they poisonous? Thank you for identifying it, it has been most useful.

Pupation

In the wild they overwinter as a pupa (from about October/November to May/June) but if you are keeping it somewhere unnatural (such as indoors) it might emerge sooner.

Look

All you need to do is to look on the web using the scientific name in your search engine. It will tell you quite a bit and show you pictures of what will hatch out and quite likely give you some idea how to store the pupa.
