I've put as group 'fungi and lichens', but I'm not really sure what this is growning on plants in grassland. Any general pointers would be of interest. Camera pointing staight down to ground.
Update: after helpful suggestion from 'refugee', I realised it is indeed a slime mould. I should have thought of that but I'm not too familar with them. It looks very like pics of Fuligo septica, the scrambled-egg (or 'dog's vomit') slime mould. Mmmmm. As it's not my expert field, I've left my opinion as 'likely to be this'. Now it's not really considered to be a fungi, but there isn't a slime-mould group on iSpot!

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.
