Cluster flies living up to their name on the trunk of a Hazel
No interactions present.
I have never seen this many together before interesting to see.

This was only a small part of what must have been about 100 flies, all tight together, on this tree. However, in the general area, pretty much every tree trunk had a group like it. There will have been thousands, all together, with other species like Mesembrina meridiana joining them, right in amongst them.
