where was this found?
In a leaf litter sample under a willow by a stream in the grounds of Rosewarne Campus, Camborne, Cornwall!
oh wow. Can you tell me anything about this as I've never heard of a pseudoscorpion before ...
There are 24 species in the British Isles found in a variety of habitats from bookcases, birds nests to sea shore. They range from 1-4 mm long have no stinging tail but do have pincers and impressive jaws, they spin silk "sleeping bags" to spend the winter in but are still active. They hunt Springtails and some will fight when too close! You can look under loose bark and stones, or search leaf litter I used a Tullgren Funnel but have found them under bark. They can be found almost every where but are under recorded and over looked by many naturalists.
