I agree this is a Lepraria, but identification of the species is extremely difficult. If the white areas are an underlying crust, then it is definitely NOT L. incana, but as far as I can tell from the photograph, the white areas may just be dead areas of the lichen.
If so, L. incana is a likely identification, but cannoty be confirmed from the photograph. There are other species with the same appearance and colour.
Thanks again, Alan. I really do appreciate your time and help with my attempts at identifcation. The lichen was quite high up in the tree, and I'm afraid that my new camera is nowhere near as good at close-ups as I need it to be!
