Hoverfly new to me

Observed: 9th October 2011 By: AMSmoutAMSmout’s reputation in Invertebrates

This rather large and very fine hoverfly was certainly a new one to me. The second and third yellow paralelle bands are broad and unbroken, and are not truncated by black at the sides. The antannae are black.
