No interactions present.
The genus Stenus is characterised by the very large eyes which occupy almost the whole side of head (I think I can see see in your pics). The are 70-odd species in the UK, so further identification could prove difficult!
It is a staphylinid, but not a Stenus. They don't have the longitudinal ridges on the pronotum that you can see in the top photos.
John's right about this - I'd thought the large eyes were a giveaway, but the overall shape is wrong for Stenus too. Oxytelus might be another genus to look at.
