It looks good for Pterostichus madidus to me (haven't clicked on "I agree" because I don't know my ground beetles well enough to be certain, but I certainly don't disagree!).

Thanks both. We have very few beetle records in Shropshire generally but this year a new beetle group has formed and I'm keen to get involved and add records to the NBN and the Natural Shropshire maps. This could be the first record of this seemingly common species in the vicinity of Shrewsbury since 1984!
