Description:

Can anyone ID this big Verbascum sp. growing at 1150m on the bare rocky summit of Mount Ambelos, Samos, Greece. V. olympicum?? or maybe not possible to say. Most of the flowers were over, but the remaining ones were bright yellow. Height 3-4feet.

Verbascum

It won't be olympicum, as that is a plant endemic to the Turkish Mt. Olympus, I think, as opposed to a Greek version (so many Olympuses to choose from!). There are, equally, a lot of Verbascums to choose from and detail is not easy to see on these. If they were on Crete, I could help you, but have never been to Samos...
