Possibly sheep

Not sure of the size, but the ridges on it look like they might be sheepy to me.

Is there any chance you can take a picture of the surface so I can see the cusps please?

Also you say you found it in the ground, how deep? I only ask so I can ascertain if it may be very old, i.e. could I be looking for something which has died out on Guernsey.

Part of the problem is that the roots are clearly missing.

From what I can see it is hard to decide between a small sheep, a goat or something more exotic.
