Plume moth

Observed: 4th October 2011 By: JustB

I think this is amblyptilia acanthadactyla, a plume moth from others I've seen on the internet, though this one seems to be slightly simpler in terms of decoration, less 'leafy' looking. The wing span from tip to tip is 35mm. Observed in my kitchen in Bristol.

re common plume moth

I've posted another photo of the plume moth showing spurs on the hind legs. Thanks for the id!

Not Amblyptilia

Regardless of the spurs, it's not Amblyptilia. The rolled wings rule that species out. The wings are also too plain.
It is either Emmelina or Oidaematophorus lithodactyla - the dark patches on the legs making the latter more likely.
