Description:

This fish was found in a small rock pool on it's own any idea what it could be? Not a great photo I'm afraid but at least gives an idea of it's size. It was dark brown with small greeny/blue dots or patches along it's side, almost under it's belly. It had pelvic fins which it seemed to be resting on but I couldn't be sure.

I'd suggest this to be a juvenile Pollack, when young they often show a degree of iridescence on the flanks.

Hmmm I've just googled a picture of a juvenile pollack and it doesn't look right i'm afraid! I wouldn't describe this fish as irridescent, the majority of it's body was definately brown with greeny/blue spots or patches in a row along the edge of it's side (maybe 4 or 5 of them) - below the lateral line. Would be helpful to have a better picture I know but it just wouldnt sit still long enough!
