Description:

Bracket fungi growing on felled silver birch trunk. Brackets were semi-circular / kidney shaped growing in lines and tiers over surface of bark. The brackets were brown with concentric semi-circular zones of darker and lighter brown giving a striped appearence, some with a white rim; leathery texture. Brackets typically 1.0 - 1.5 cm across, 0.5 cm deep and ~0.2 cm thick. Scale: 10p coin ~2.5 cm diameter.

Identifications

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.
