Bracket fungus on tree trunk
Description:

Bracket fungus, brown with concentric zones of pale brown and russet brown across upper surface; semi circular in shape with wavy [and pale] edge. Underside was pored and off white in colour. Both surfaces smooth and firm. Bracket was 8 cm wide x 5 cm deep x 2 cm thick. Scale 10p coin ~2.5 cm diameter.

Identifications

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.
