My agreement -

is a bit tentative, but I it looks very like a trial crop of Amaranthus growing near Stockton-on-Tees in NE England.
This is one of several potential "biomass fuels" under evaluation for a power station on Teesside.

Amaranthus, what spp?

This is Amaranthus, and is used as a food crop by the tribals in BR Hills in South India.

I never knew it was one of potential "bio fuels" crops.
