Ralfsia verrucosa?

Observed: 28th August 2011 By: andrewcowleyandrewcowley’s reputation in Plants

This brown encrusting weed was growing in a pool just below high water neaps (upper edge of the barnacle zone) on a fairly exposed North Cornish shore. Approximately 20mm across. Can anyone point me at a reference with a key for Ralfsia found in the U.K. or NE Atlantic?

    Sea fungus (Ralfsia fungiformis)

Ralfsia verrucosa is poorly represented on the web and is absent from all my books.
There's a decent description here
But I wonder whether this might be Ralfsia fungiformis? which has overlapping fronds
Both have records in the UK
Possibly over 40 related species listed here
I did not intend, nor expect, to make Ralfsia fungiformis Likely.
