I think you are right it is a Mallow Skipper which is not a UK Species ??? The closest alternative is the Dingy Skipper but I think it bears too much resemblance to the Mallow
I wonder if this is a chance migrant blown of course on the recent winds An interesting observation which if I am right is recorded for the NE of England ??? There are no UK records See Location of stock Shots and NBN Map . Definitely worth recording or dropping a line to Butterfly Conservation if found in the UK
